If you're interested in purchasing beef in bulk but aren't sure if you have enough freezer space, an 1/8 of one of our Irish Dexter/Belted Galloway steers is a perfect choice. This package will include approximately 50 pounds of meat. While the exact number may very depending on inventory, your meat will allotted in these categories: 6 Premium steaks such as Porterhouse, T-Bone, Delmonico and NY Strip 6 Value steaks divided between Sirloin, Ranch, Chuck Eye, and Skirt 3 Roasts divided between, Chuck, Eye Round, Rump and Sirloin 25 lbs of Ground Beef in 1 pound packs 4 lbs of Stew Meat 5 lbs of Short ribs. May need to substitute Brisket or Flat Iron Steaks if we run short of ribs 2 Packs of Soup Bones. We use Smuckers Meats in Mt. Joy, PA for our USDA inspected processing and we process steers monthly. How much freezer space will I need for my beef? Plan on approximately one cubic foot of freezer space for every 35-40 pounds of meat. The interior of a milk crate is slightly more than a cubic foot.
